There are several methods for players to find a game.
- Quick Play: For a quick and simple match-up, players can join the quickplay matchmaking system. There are options available for 1v1, 2v2, and 5-player FFA. Matchmaking is much looser here, using MMR +/- 500 rather.
- Ranked Ladder: Players are matched up in tighter Elo-based matchmaking. Players are matched +/- 200 Elo rather than the 500 of MMR. the only time this isn’t the case is if there are very few sessions to be found, resulting in long Queue times.
- Duels: A 1v1 Challenge mode where two players play against each other with the most standardized rule set. Not ranked but does provide rewards, unlike custom matches. Players must be challenged directly via any form of player list (friends, clans, player search..)
- Custom Matches: A customized match where players can ban cards and set specific rules for the match. These matches do not provide any rewards. Players search for custom matches directly through a sessions list.
Players can create communities and interact with each other via duels, and direct messages. Unlike most online TCGs, Kneon Knights features an in-game chat, a lobby chat, and a clan chat system. Players will also be able to privately message other players.
Plans for a trading system and a clan system will eventually be implemented
Players will be able to host their tournaments and events within the game. There will be spectator tools as well as bracket-making tools. The community is the backbone of any game and while I may not be able to afford events I want there to be as few gates for the community to pass through if they want to host their events and run their communities.
